I design to solve problems

My goal is to take the complex and make it simple. There is so much convolution in the world around us and I became a UX designer to help unravel the frustrations we've created for ourselves.

Understanding why humans interact with technology the way they do has always been something I’ve found fascinating. I'm particularly interested in how user experience design and research can be applied to frontier technologies and highly interactive interfaces such as those found in games and VR.

It has been a career focus and personal passion of mine to spread the message of user-centered design in the games industry. I’ve successfully initiated over three UX departments over my career, and continue to plan on doing my part in an industry that desperately needs more focus on its players.

Outside of UX, I have an obsession with baseball and once upon a time considered a career as a baseball statistics writer & analyst.

Aside from all of that I like to have adventures with an Australian Cattle Dog/Mini Schnauzer mix named Jango (figure a).
